Casinos in Mozambique

The relative lack in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense kind of puzzling, in one way or another.

In years before now, the region was a place where plenty of South Africans would vacation to be away from the especially prohibitive rules on gambling (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. Hence, you may bank on a concept of an advancing industry to cater to that tourist market.

Still, maybe it isn’t really a discovery. The country is truly the most barren on the planet, having gone through a horrific civil war (followed by destructive floods) from which it is still, very slowly, recovering. This might make a place way less of a travel focal point, as much as there is currently a inviting display along various of the country’s beautiful beaches.

It is also true that regionally to a certain extent, Mozambique’s casinos have had to aspire with others in the freshly liberalized South Africa, which is inclusive of the recognized Sun City founded by the Kerzner family organization.

Here’s a list of Mozambique’s casinos:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines and video poker games, five tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, along with 1 poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are forty slot machines, American roulette, and two tables for poker as well as punto banco.

It is thought that over time the total tourism industry in Mozambique will flourish adequately. While the local languages are, obviously, African, there is at the same time the portion of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the innovative and expanding origin of English, both from South Africa and as part of the world-wide phenomenon. The country is extremely cheap (evidently, as it is really poor) and as above, has some of the most stunning beaches across the globe, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the combination of features that make tourism management drool, and as the country elevates out of its existent slump, it is likely that not only will tourism build, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer for sure.

While the country is skeptical to ever reclaim its notoriety as a spot for partying South Africans, as there are now other alternatives closer to home for them to revel in, the advancement of a long distance tourism business is being set-up. This would be to oblige Europeans bargaining on winter sun, as a getaway from the bleakness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. And, obviously, the most elite prawns (shrimp) across the globe are just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
